and there was spring break in america

During Spring Break I had the fantastic opportunity to go down to Louisiana with some of my favourite friends, to see the real deal New Orleans Mardi Gras. We had a blast. On friday March 4, I left my parents at the airport, met up with Frida and picked up her lovely friend Charlotte Nilsson. We went downtown ATL to join the Georgia State people for some social lovin' times, with half a Bright Eyes concert, dinner at Ted's bison burger place and some socializing. We woke up on the saturday, ready to leave for Macon, to find our car busted at the parking lot for not paying its parking ticket fully. bad car!

After som great 75 bucks, we hit the road for Macon, spent the night woth lovely Steve and Laura Bell, and hit the roads once again on sunday. Mission: Mardi Gras.
It was amazing. After heavy traffic to get into town (we're talking two hours to move a kilometer downtown New Orleans), we found our sweet hotel, checked all our six bodies in to the spacious (not) double bed room, and got ready for an allnighter on Bourbon street. That's where the magic happens. Obvious theme for the night: puch through crowds, stick together. And still we had so much fun. Luckily, the genious and forever legend and lad Alexander Doogle Duthie had some serious Scottish whiskey tasting knowledge that made us many friends at the Top One Bourbon Street pub Hermes. Free black pepper popcorn - Proper lad!

charlotte nilsson and freja fornander, mardi gras beads

The following days in New Orleans offered a great Lundi Gras festival on the River walk, some serious battle of beads at night and the greatest pizza ever tasted. We also managed to meet up with the other GRSP's, have beignets at the Cafe du Monde, see some crazy dressed up people, see the carnival parades, and make friends with students from Florida and Australia (mates!).

ON WEDNESDAY IT WAS TIME FOR GOODBYE.
off to Pensacola for the night

and thursday was GRSP PELHAM WEEKEND!!!

We had a great time thanks to "Pelham-Larry" Frosteg, who had arranged an amazing time for us all. We got to visit a hight school, a state prison and an alligator farm. We had the whole saturday out in the sun with freetime to play whatever ball sports you wanted or canoe in the lake. We spent the evenings partying at the countryclub, and the saturday night doing an entertaining show à la GRSP.

fantastic Quentin Rossetto distributed our pretty GRSP-frat/sorority-t-shirts, and it is now official

[f] GRSP rocks!
